Matt's Band from High School

Matt has been converting all of our VHS home videos to digital lately. This video is of his band, Doxology, from high school. It was one of our first dates. They played at TCU, opening for Otis Day and the Knights.

Baby Shower

Last Saturday my sweet mom and sweet friends, Tiffany and Sarah, hosted a baby shower for me, Matt, and Jackson. Everyone was very generous and we feel very blessed. Matt came at the end of the shower and helped me open the last few gifts. Here we are about to open the high chair from my Aunt Jeannie and Aunt Lorri. Thank you ladies! We will get lots of use out of it! And thank you to everyone else for the wonderful gifts!!!Janie came in town for the weekend from Austin. She had to go back on Monday to take her last final exam. She got us this basket of fun stuff. Look at the bib on top... it says "I love my aunt". It's so cute!
My mom's house was decorated beautifully. She had lots of Christmas decorations up and then lots of blue and brown baby things to match Jackson's room. Here is the kitchen table and cake... it was so cute and yummy. It was white cake with strawberry icing filling.
Here I am with the hostesses. I'm so thankful for you girls! I'm so sad that I didn't get a picture with my mom.... next time we're together we will take one and I will post it.
Here is my mom with her friends, Elizabeth and Gretta, at the shower. I'm so glad that they came and are such good friends to my mom.
Here is Jackson's other "grandma" Nancy. We are not sure yet what Jackson will call her, but she decided against grandma. I think the top two names are Nana and Mamaw.
Here is my mom's front room... it was filled with gifts! Like I said everyone was so generous. It was really fun this week organizing everything. I am actually doing my first load of laundry for baby Jackson right now.

We had a busy week. Here I am last Sunday... 30 weeks pregnant. Jackson is getting bigger! It snowed on Wednesday morning. I was hoping for a snow day, but it just wasn't sticking on the roads. It was neat going to school and hearing some of my students' reactions though. A few of them moved from California this year and had never seen snow before. Hopefully we will get some more this year for them.

On Tuesday, Baron Bradley Windle was born. He was 9 lbs. 12 oz.! We went and visited him at home on Thursday night... Here I am holding the sweet baby. Here is Matt holding him.
Baron lives just about 10 houses down from us... I think that he and Jackson are going to be good friends. I can picture Jackson asking if he an go play at Baron's house. :)
We also got our Christmas tree this week and started decorating the house. There are a few gifts under tree.
I like it all lit up with the other lights off.
On friday my dad came in town and stayed the night with us. Saturday, we went to his graduation where he received his doctorate degree in Psychology. Congrats Dad! Matt is working on a video of the ceremony. I will post it when he is done.

The Nursery

Here I am organizing everything after the shower. It was very fun!Jackson's cute little clothes! I organized them by size... they range from newborn to 12 months. I just love all of the cute Carters clothes with dinosaurs on them!
Here are some pictures of the nursery with things starting to get organized. It looks like a changing table now...

Jackson's first piggy bank. We are going to try and teach him to be a saver.
The hostesses from the shower got Jackson a swing... I think he is going to love this!
I just love balloons... this one was from the shower.

Some of my good friends in Denton hosted a baby shower for me this weekend... It was so much fun and I feel so blessed to be surronded by such wonderful women!
Here are are some of the cute decorations... the diaper cake is in Jackson's room now.
Love this!
All of the food was so good. These girls know how much I love blue... they even made the punch blue!

Opening gifts...This is from my mom and sister. They also got us the changing pad and covers for the changing table...Passing all of the cute things around the room...
Matt's parents got us a pack n play for Jackson! I'm so excited about it! We are going to use it so much.
Jackson loves his grandmas! (Even if they both look too young to be grandmas!)
The hostess.... Ashley, Kallie, Dawn, Holly, and Deedra (not in the picture). I love you girls! Thanks for everything!

Mama Kallie and Copeland (5 weeks old)...
Mama Ashley and Annabelle (4 months old)...
Afterwards Matt came to load gifts into the car... He had to hold Miss Annabelle first though. He just loves babies and is so good with them. I can't wait to see him with Jackson!

Baby Furniture

We picked up the baby furniture from Babies R Us last night. It barely fit in our truck! Now its all put together... We are still deciding on the placement of everything.
You can also see the walls are all done being painted and the chair rail is up. Matt did such a good job! I love it!
In the picture above you can see the corner of the twin bed that's in the room. Here is the changing table... I need to get one of those changing pads.
We also need to get the mattress for the crib still...The glider is soooo comfortable!
We are still looking for a nice new home for our cats... they come with an electric cat box. Let me know if you are interested. Here they are cuddling tonight. :)

Trip to Ohio

We had a great trip last weekend. We flew into Cleveland Friday morning early... our flight left Love field at 6:55am... that means we had to wake up at 3:30am! Then we rented a car and drove about two hours to my dad's house. Here's a picture of me and Matt in his back yard. All of the trees there are beautiful!
When we got there we went to Presque Isle to look at Lake Erie. While we were there, we went for a stroll along the beach with my dad. It's quite a bit chillier there than in Texas.
I love this picture of me and my dad. It was really good to get to spend some quality time with him even though it was a quick visit. He is flying down for thanksgiving, so I will get to see him again soon. Yea!
This is the creek that runs behind my dad's house. Look at all of the fishermen! There were so many of them. On Friday night we got to see a big group of them at the Hibachi restaurant we ate dinner at. It was interesting and yummy! After breakfast Saturday, we drove back to Ohio and met up with Matt's family at Uncle Allen's house for lunch. There was lots of great food and fellowship. I really enjoyed gettting to meet so many people on Matt's dad's side of the family. I feel like I learned so much more about his family. After lunch we drove around town and got a tour from Matt's mom and dad. Here is the only Walmart in the world with a hitching post for horse drawn buggies.
There are so many Amish people that live in the area... here are a few that were just leaving the Walmart. It was so interesting.
In the evening we went to a ceremony where Matt's gradparents renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary. Here we are in the church where they were originally married! God has really blessed them. Praise God for all that he has done in their lives! Here are his grandparent (Skip and Trudy) as they renew their vows. Grandma Wear looked so pretty in her pink dress!
Very romantic... kissing his bride 50 years later! I hope Matt and I do something similar to this on our 50th anniversary!
It was a quick trip, but I am so glad we went! Thanks to my dad, Matt's parent, and all of the rest of Matt's family! You guys made the trip!

Hello to all of my blog readers that I just met! I'm so happy to know you!
