Carpet makes it homier! (Is that a word?)

Here are some pictures of the carpet! There's not much left to do, but minor touch ups and cleaning. It feels so much homier and comfortable with the carpet in! We are probably going to do our walk through some time this week! It's getting so close!

Here is the backyard! You can see the little patio that they poured a couple of days ago! They also put up a light! Any day now they should be putting in the sprinklers and grass!

My dad built us the coolest game called Michigan "Hillbilly" Golf! He said that it took a whole day to make, but I am so thankful that he did because we are going to get so much use out of it! I can't wait to have everyone come over and play! I think y'all are going to want to make your own set as soon as you play see how much fun it is!

Great Places for our feet...

...Sidewalk and Carpet! They put in the carpet today. We tried to go in and take a picture, but the house was locked and the office where we can get a key was closed. I just saw it by looking through a window. Hopefully we'll get to go in and see it on Sunday! They also laid the cement for the sidewalk and driveway... I tried to write a heart with our initials in the sidewalk, but I got there too late and the cement was too hard. That's ok though... I'll put my own signature on the house when we move in... IN TWO WEEKS!!! Can you tell I'm excited! :)

Action Shots

Here is our house today! They are getting ready to lay the driveway and side walk!
Here is an action shot of the workers pouring the cement for the backyard patio! There is a cement truck in our backyard...
They had just finished our neighbor's cement and then drove the truck over to our house.
We now have doorknobs, towel bars and toilet paper holders!
They put the medicine cabinet in the master bathroom. They had forgotten, but we reminded them and they fixed it right away.
They also turned on the electricity in the house so all the lights work now!

Welcome Luke Michael!

On Oct. 20th at 1:30 Luke Micheal was born! Everyone is happy and healthy! Andrea and Lee were just glowing today when we went to visit them at the hospital! They get to go home from the hospital on Monday... I'm soooo excited for them! They are going to be such great parents!
Doesn't Luke have the most beautiful face! Praise God for this sweet baby boy! :)
Here is our house today! That's me and my mom standing outside... They are just about done with all of bricks and stones on the outside! They just need to put in that one last keystone above the front windows.
Here's the house number and the "mismatched stone!" Haha... long story!
Here's the back yard! They put the neighbor's behind us fence up... we will share that back part of the fence with them.

Nov. 9th!!!

We are planning on closing on November 9th! That's only 3 weeks away! We are so excited! It's going to be a big day... not only are we closing on our house, but so are Jeremy and Deedra on their house and the church is closing on the former Albertson's across the street.

Andrea went into labor today! I'm so excited to find out if it's a boy or girl! If it's a girl I'm going to stop by the store on the way to the hospital and get that baby a pink outfit! They have said everything has been going good so far! God is so great!

Go Tiger Tennis!

My Irving Tennis kids won in the first round of playoffs last night against MacArthur (our rival team)! I'm soooo proud of them! They called me last night on the bus on the way home and passed the phone around and I got to talk to a lot of them! It was so good to hear from them! I really miss them!

Here are updated picture of our house! They put the bricks in for the fireplace, the sink in the 1/2 bathroom downstairs and the light fixtures! The lights are a lot nicer than the ones I thought we were getting so I'm real excited!

Toilets!

The bathrooms are really starting to come together. Here is a picture of the master bathroom. They put in the counter tops/sinks, toilets, shower heads, and linoleum flooring. They are protecting the flooring with that pretty brown paper that you can see on the floor...
This is the upstairs guest bathroom. It looks like an actual bathroom now!
I thought you might like to see what's going on around the house... That is our house on the right and our neighbor's house on the left. They are a little bit further along on their house... you can see that they are about to lay the cement for their driveway and sidewalk. Our neighbor on the other side is at the same step.
Here is a picture of the floors that are in the kitchen and entry way. This spot in the pantry was the only spot that wasn't covered by brown paper.

We are hoping that they finish the outside this week... they are being a little big slow right now, but we will keep being patient. We want them to do it right and not hurry through it! We're just really excited about our new house! :)

Kitchen Counter Tops

They installed the kitchen counter tops and sink today. The counters are made out of a solid surface called Corian.
This is called an under mount sink and I'm very excited about it! I will be able to just brush crumbs right into the sink for easy clean up! :)

Progress Inside!

Here is what the front of our house looks like today. It hasn't really changed all week. They still need to finish the stone on the front of the house. They just got some more delivered, so now they will be able to. I have been driving by all week and thinking that they didn't have much done, but they were working on the inside and I just didn't see it!

Here is the kitchen.... The cabinets are in all in! Also all of the shelves throughout the house are in. Here you can see the food pantry. They put all of the door frames on and the doors that go in them... Also, you can see the bar on the right.
Here's the other side of the kitchen. There are holes for the refrigerator, oven and microwave. They covered all of the cabinets up with plastic because they just texturized and painted the walls.
Here is the laundry room that connects to the garage. They put a self in here too. I'm going to have to check with the builder though b/c I thought that we were getting white wire shelves. I think they are better b/c you don't have to dust them! :) Also, I think that this shelf should be about a foot and a half higher so that I can hang clothes on it. I'm going to work on it this week.
This is me upstairs in the game room... you can see the paint color pretty well from this picture. I'm holding a note pad in my hand. We were measuring rooms today so that I can see how our furniture will fit. Matt has been great... I made him go furniture shopping with me both this Saturday and last Saturday. At least most of the furniture stores had the football game on while we were looking around. :)

Cabinets are here!

The bricks are almost done! There is just a little area around the entrance way where they will put the white stones... It rained this morning so there wasn't much progress today. You can see in the garage that they delivered lots of stuff today... looks like doors, and cabinets mostly, but it's hard to tell when it's still in the box.

This is a back view of our house from the street behind ours.... See all of the bricks are done! Yea! :)

Sold!

We have a Sold sign out in front of our house now! :) They have more house available though if anyone is interested in moving to Denton too! We would love for you to be our neighbors!
Here is a better picture of the garage after the bricking was finished.

More Beautiful Bricks!

We have lots more bricks on the house now! Everyday the house gets closer and closer to being done!

The area around the garage, the right side, and the back of the house are all done. Maybe they will be able to finish today! :)

They finished the drywall on the inside also.
This is a picture of me in the family room! I'm so excited for Christmas time to come because I will be sitting by the fire in this room and looking at our Christmas tree!

Pretty soon there will be cabinets in the kitchen!
