Christmas is my favorite time of year!

Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know your friends.
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping... its way more fun to open a present when its been wrapped than when its in a bag.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real!!! I love the smell and the look, plus the cats are less likely to climb the tree if its real
3. When do you put up the tree? the Saturday after Thanksgiving... I like to enjoy it as long as possible.
4. When do you take the tree down? the night before whenever the trashman is coming to pick it up...as long as its after the new year
5. Do you like eggnog? NO
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Wow... that's hard. I was very blessed and recieve many wonderful presents. I don't think I can pick just one.
7. Hardest person to buy for? Matt... he always wants electronics and I know nothing about all that stuff.
8. Easiest person to buy for? haha.... myself, but thats really selfish. It always is tempting though.
9. Do you have a nativity scene? Well... yes, sort of... it's on a display plate, but since it's not separate pieces that you can play with I don't think that it counts. I would love one though... hint, hint.... that would be a great gift for me this year. :)
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail! I love Christmas cards... I have already sent a lot of them out! I just think it is really fun to get mail!
11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Its the thought that counts so there is no such thing as a bad gift, right!?!

18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? I love being at home, but I also love spending time with family... luckily a lot of our family lives close by.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? yes! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, Rudolph.... haha... Missy already had them named so I didn't have to do it :)
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We have a beautiful pink angel... it reminds me of the angel Gabriel from when Jesus was born.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning!!! Santa doesn't come until then, duh!
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? NOTHING! I love Christmas time!!! Ok... I take that back I get annoyed with the people of the Chirstmas radio stations wouldn't talk b/c they can get pretty annoying... they should just play Christmas music with no interuptions! Also... I wish they would play the Christmas Shoes song... I'm not a big fan... I always change the station when it comes on.

Happy Thanksgiving... I'm just a little late!

The last week has gone by so quickly! I guess that's just what happens around the holidays. Well, our thanksgiving was great. We had lots of good time with family and great food! My Aunt Jeanne, Uncle Rob, and cousin Robert visited from Virginia. It was really fun to see them since it had been so long since the last visit. These pictures are from when they came and visited our house.

Here are some pictures of one of my geometry classes this week. On Wendesday all of the 2nd block classes had Christmas parties and got presents for a child from a local preschool.

Our little girl liked Hanna Montana... this is her opening her new Hanna Montana Guitar!

This is my document camera and projector... my two most favorite teaching tools! I can put and thing on it and it projects on to the screen at the front of the room. :)

My 1st period geometry class... hard at work learning. I didn't ask them to pose or anything. This is actually what they were doing.

It wasn't really fair this day... 1st period these guys had to work and 2nd period got to have a party.
We're going to the Mavs game tonight! I'm so excited...

One Year Anniversary!

One year ago today Matt and I closed on the "WearHouse"! It's amazing that we have been homeowners that long...

Here are a few more pics from Halloween. We got to be the very first house that little Kennedy trick-or-treated at! Isn't she just so cute... and so smart! If you ask her what sound any animal makes she will tell you right away! My favorite is the elephant b/c she does the hand motions for the elephants trunk too!
It took me almost all night to carve the spider... most of the trick-or-treaters didn't get to see it.

Here are some of the pumpkins from the mantel... I just thought this was a pretty picture.

Happy 26th B-Day Tiff! We got to play Luke tonight... he makes the most expressive faces. You can know exactly what he is thinking without him saying a word. You can't see it here b/c the table is in the way, but Sarah has her baby bump now... Yea! Another baby will be here pretty soon!

Happy Halloween

That's the pumpkin we carved tonight! I'm so excited about having trick-or-treaters come to our house for the first time... I probably bought way too much candy. :)

Here is a preview of Matt's costume... He is the Guitar Hero!

School Has Started

I'm back to work and back to school. Both are going really well and keeping me busy.

At work I'm teaching 2 Algebra II classes, 2 Geometry classes, and 2 math TAKS Intervention classes. This is my first year to teach geometry so I was a little nervous about how it would go. Especially since when I was in high school I did not enjoy my geometry class. I am actually surprised at how well it is going and am really enjoying teaching geometry. I wasn't sure I would every say that.

I'm also taking 2 statistics class at TWU... they are every Tuesday and Wednesday night from 6-9. So far I have had quite a bit of homework in both classes. That's what I spent my whole afternoon doing yesterday and today. It's fun though... I really do enjoy math!

Sorry its been a while since my last post. We were in Colorado for a week on vacation with Jeremy and Deedra. Now, the school year is starting... yesterday was my first day back. We have staff development this week and the kids start back on Tuesday next week.

Here are some pictures from our trip... This is the cabin that we stayed in. Deedra's dad built it himself! It is about half way between Lake City and Creede.
This is the main living room. Yes, there was a tv... The binoculars right next to it were awesome. We could see the elk up on top of the mountain... one day we say a group of about 50!
This is the other side of the great room. You can see there stairs that lead to the bedrooms. This is the kitchen... out the window there is a hummingbird feeder. I loved to watch it b/c there were always birds flying by to get food.
While we were out driving one day we saw a bull moose in the valley.
This is us in Creede. We drove into town one day to have lunch, shop, and see a play. It was a really cute little town. Here is Deedra in Lake City. The girls shopped one day while the boys were out on their 8 hour fishing trip. All the little shops are so cute.
Matt and Jeremy attempted to clean their fish that they caught, but we decided not to eat them. Yucky!
Lake Cristobal... Beautiful!
Chip, the chipmunk.... he road in the hood of our car to Creede and back... every once in a while he would pop his head out of the car and say hi.
It was about a 16 hour drive each way. On the last day of driving we stopped in Amarillo for lunch at the Big Texan Restaurant.
It was a great trip! Thank you to Jeremy and Deedra for taking us with them! You guys rock!

Visiting my dad in Pennsylvania!

Matt and I had a fun get away last weekend! My dad moved to Erie, PA a few months ago and we had been wanting to go see his new place... so my dad was awesome and used his frequent flier miles to get us plane tickets to come see him. Friday we had about a 3 hour delay at the airport, but it was no big deal and we got to Clevland safely. My dad picked us up from Cleavland and drove us about an hour to his house in Erie, PA. Since we were late getting in town we went out to dinner and explored the town the first night. Here is Matt at Lake Erie skipping rocks...Doesn't it look just like the ocean? You can see the Canadian Geese in the background.
Isn't the sunset beautiful? If I lived there, I think I would spend every evening at the beach watching the sunset! So romantic!
The next morning we rented some kayaks and explored the peninsula. Here we are by some lily pads. Matt picked a water lily for me... isn't he sweet! Janie, I love the pig tails... so cute!
Janie (my sister) and I were in a canoe so we could work together to row... we don't have as much arm strength as the boys!
Here's my dad! He has his own kayak. He is going to have so much fun using it and exploring even more around the peninsula! Look how calm the water is...
In the afternoon we drove through New York and into Canada to see Niagara Falls. Isn't it amazing!
Here's the whole family! :) I love this picture! I'm going to order it and put it in a frame.
A rainbow appeared after lunch! We could see both ends and there was no treasure anywhere! The "Maid of the Mist" boat drove right into the rainbow.
Sunday morning we got up early and drove back to Cleavland to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum. Isn't the building interesting?
At the entrance of the museum there were these giant guitars... Here is my dad rocking out on the George Harrison guitar! :)
After the museum we had to head back to the airport. It was a really fun trip and it was great to see my dad since we hadn't seen him in a few months! Thanks for everything dad!

I have an amazing husband. He just came home for lunch and brought me these beautiful "passion" roses! The flowers smell so nice... I love you so much honey!
Matt also had a little gift for me... A PINK ESV Bible!!! haha... We really are prefect for each other! Guess what I got him for our anniversary?!? An ESV Bible... but the one I got him is plain black which is much more manly! We both had been wanting ESV Bibles since those are the kind that they use at our church.
To celebrate our 3 wonderful years of being married, tonight we are going out to dinner to an cute Italian place in Denton! I'm excited!
