The Wall

On Wednesday we had 2 men come and build a little wall around our flower bed. They took out all of the bad dirt and weeds and put in all new dirt.
This was our anniversary present to each other!
Then I planted flowers... thanks for helping me pick them out Janie!

The front of our house looks so much different now!
They used Austin stone to match the house.

I make these this afternoon.... it was so much fun!
They will be our dessert tonight for dinner tonight with out home group.
They are made out of cupcakes, icing, and sesame seeds!

Flucation

I really enjoyed my 3 day swine flu vacation. I had to go back to work today... Too bad only about half of the students decided to come. Some how the word got out that their absence today would be excused and not count against them. Hopefully there will be more students there tomorrow. It's not going to be fun catching up all of the absent students.

Mother's day is this weekend, so here's a shout out to my mom and Matt's mom. Matt and I love you two very much!

Our replacement dining room table is supposed to be delivered on Saturday... Once we get it set up I will post a pic.

Little Ayden

Here are come picture of my last visit with the Wiersum's baby, Ayden.
I just love babies and Ayden is so sweet!

Their nursery is so cute... You can see the giraffe they painted on the wall behind me. They had a zebra on the other wall.

We went to the arts and jazz fest last night. It was a really good time. We got to hear 3 local denton bands: Andrew Tinker and the Good Nights, Brian Houser, and Brave Combo (polka!). It was the first time I had every heard Brave Combo and I was impressed. I even did the Chicken Dance! :)

We have taks testing all week... Yuck! It's going to be a boring week!

Update

A lot has been going on lately...

First, Ayden Christopher Wiersum was born on March 23, 2009 at 4:57pm. He was 8lbs 8oz and 18in long. Mama, daddy, and baby are all very happy and healthy. We have gotten to visit him a few times and he is so so cute! Here is a picture of him on his birthday.
Then the next weekend Matt had the honor of baptizing his friend Sam at church. God is good. Matt and Sam have been good friends for a few years now.

Sam & Ashley and Josh & Kallie have moved north of the bridge about 5 minutes from our house. We are really excited to get to hang out with them more now that they live so close. Both couples are expecting a little one soon.

Life has been really busy lately. My high school students take the math taks test in two and a half week so there is a lot of stress at work. I've been doing taks tutoring on Saturday mornings with some of my students.
